america hurts

“As I say, it is perhaps easier to love America passionately,
when you look at it through the wrong end of a
telescope than when you are right there.
When you are actually in America, America hurts.”

I’m my opinion this is a rather dismal view of America. These are troubling times for sure but I am more concerned about abortions than guns.

    • America is dismal right now. Reliable surveys show that most Americans support the idea that a woman has the right to choose what to do with her own body. And this last election proved that the right to choose is an issue that brought Americans to the polls. What a woman chooses to do with her body is none of the government’s business and never should be. A minority of conservative right wing “Christians” are trying to impose their religious beliefs on a whole nation. There is in this country a separation of church and state. We have the orange baboon to thank for turning the Supreme Court into a theocratic kangaroo Court of inquisition. Meanwhile every day, every week someone is exercising their second amendment right by killing innocent people. You want to take your kids to the store and you end up being victims of a mass shooting. That is not a sane society. America’s answer to the problem: thoughts and prayers? It’s simply insane. I left the country of my birth to escape that kind of violence 42 years ago. Nothing has changed… It has only gotten much worse…

I could not have said this better or even as well. So I will share it.

  3. Excellent!
