BABES IN A BOX

“I saw that it was all over,
put away in a box like a doll no longer cared for,
the magical intimacy of our childhood together.”

I’m not digging Victor Hugo’s words here — “to each his toy. . . woman to a man”. But I like yours, sad as it is.

    • Hugo lived in another time, and his perspectives are of his era. Just thought it amusing that he finished up with a man being the toy of the devil…

  2. “Blessed be Providence which has given to each his toy: the doll to the child, the child to the woman, the woman to the man, the man to the devil!” ~ Victor Hugo
