A PARIS MOMENT – WINDOW SHOPPING

THE FINE ART OF WINDOW RECONNAISSANCE – TAKE THREE

A BIZARRE STUFFED MONKEY

Yesterday I posted the second window shopping blog with a photo of an antique shop window displaying a hippo’s head, among other objects. Today I continue the theme of window shopping with a view of the same window, only just below the hippo’s head. Here a you can see a very  bizarre stuffed monkey holding a walking stick and a flask in one hand and a bouquet of dried flowers in the other hand riding on the back of an animal I believe to be a boar. It looks like something that would have been entertaining in the Victorian age. They were into some really twisted things and this certainly fits the bill. I tried to find some information on this display, but so far have not had any success. And as I said yesterday, I have reason to believe that the shop no longer exists…
