CARPE DIEM, OMNES DIES DANTUR

 

Who were these two nameless individuals who lived and died some nine hundred years ago? Parent and child? Husband and wife? Brother and sister? What hopes, dreams and aspirations filled their lives? The passage of time sees our brief existence vanish into the nothingness from whence we came. Is that all there is? The answer is sadly, yes. For if there is nothing before, there can only be nothing after. And if nothing is there before and after, then there is nothing that can be known about it. You cannot learn something about nothing…
