THE VIEW FROM THE CAVE

 

I often end up where I’m not, fated ever since I could first perceive the world around me with a cognitive awareness, to drift between here and there. Whether visions, imagination, hallucinations or illusions, they are very real when the curtain goes up and vanish all too quickly when it falls. This was one such moment of many, when words do little justice to the eyes-wide-open dream. Paradise was forever lost when agriculture took root and spawned the cancer that we have the audacity to call civilization…
