No sojourn in Paris is complete without spending an afternoon in the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle. A visually stimulating combination of a traditional museum from an earlier era with up to date informative displays, it is a wonderful adventure, especially for children. Created in 1635 as the Paris Royal Botanical Garden, the famous Paris Natural History Museum is located in Jardin des Plantes. Its main attractions are the Hall of Evolution, the Gallery Of Comparative Anatomy (dinosaurs, fossils, giant birds and insects) and the Gallery Of Mineralogy (600,000 minerals, giant crystals and royal precious stones). The Gallery Of Comparative Anatomy is one of my favourite stops when in Paris with an incredible assortment of skeletons and thousands of beautiful fossils. The price of admission is 7 Euros.
